NTLC VISION AND MANDATE
The vision for the National Trust for Land and Culture is: a federation of provincially-based Trusts working together with people from all corners of our nation to protect and care for our natural and cultural heritage on behalf of all future generations.
The mission of the National Trust for Canada is: “To engage people in the protection and ongoing care of special places in Canada.”
The mandate of the National Trust for Canada is to be a collective of 14 independent, not-for-profit, charitable organizations, that works in all parts of Canada to engage people in protecting and caring for sites of ecological, historic, cultural, agriculture, scientific, scenic and compatible outdoor recreational value, and that incorporates public education in all of its work and activities. Member organizations of the collective will be membership-based and governed, and will work in a professional, businesslike and non-confrontational manner to achieve their objectives.
Principles: each member organization of the National Trust for Canada, as well as the collective, will accept the criteria established by INTO for full membership in that organization, and will follow those criteria as principles in establishing the National Trust for Canada.
